« Territories facing the imperative of food security »

Overall Objective

The main objective of this event is to provide a window of opportunity for the financing of municipal projects as well as harnessing the economic potentials of local communities. The aim is to dwell on the implementation and concretisation phase of the commitments made during the first edition of the Councils International Economic Forum for the development of territories.

« Territories facing the imperative of food security », this theme has been at the centre of debates and exchanges between Regional and Local Authorities and enterprises, Investment Funds, Banks as well as other tehcnical-financial institutions that will take place from 1st to 3rd June 2023 in Yaounde.It is an edition of concretization of the commitments initiated during Jeicom21 for the development of territories.

Partners and Stakeholders

The 1^st edition of Jeicom was a resounding success thanks to the distinguished patronage of the Head of State of Cameroon. Other institutions are mobilising to support the implementation of this project. These include:
The Le Government of Cameroon;
Friendly Countries;
Investment Funds;
Cameroon and Foreign employer grouping;
And Investors among others.

Access to the event site is free of charge and open to everyone. However, online registration is mandatory to have a participation badge which will ease mobility within the event site !

Promoting Municpal Projects

Three (3) project categories were created by councils. They include initiatives focusing on added values, public investment, as well as social and economic solidarity.

Enhancing Government Policies

This will be done through the presentation of the general framework as well as measures put in place by the Government.

Territorial Economy

Territorial Economy is based on relevant provisions of law n°2013/011 of 16 December 2013 governing economic zones in Cameroon. It will be built on urban and rural technopoles.
